SLEEPING BAG TESTING Guaranteed Performance. Choosing the correct sleeping bag can be a matter of life or death,or simply about getting a good nights sleep. That's why we take Sleeping Bag testing so seriously. The thermal properties of each Aztec Sleeping Bag are tested against the requirements of European Standard EN13537.Sleeping bags have been tested by three independent testing facilities, each recognised as experts in the field of technical fabric research. -Performance Clothing Research Group,Leeds University -ITS,Interlink Testing Services. -Hohenstein Institute for Clothing Physiology. Aztec Sleeping Bags have been tested using a number of methods, including a heated mannequin that acts as a thermoregulatory model of the human body. These tests determine the temperature rating for each bag, illustrated by three distinct temperatures. 1.COMFORT TEMPERATURE The Comfort Temperature is that at which the user can lie in a relaxed position and not feel cold. 2.LIMIT TEMPERATURE The limit temperature is the lower limit at which a person in a curled-up position will not feel the cold. 3.EXTREME TEMPERATURE The Extreme Temperature is the very lowest temperature at which the bag will perform to.Please note:Inexperienced users and those who are not dressed for cold weather conditions run the risk of hyperthermia at these temperatures. Those wishing to sleep in extreme weather conditions should not use the Extreme Temperature rating as an indication of the bags nomal use. Please note that these sleeping bag ratings are obtained under standardised test conditions.Performance may vary during use due to a number of factors such as air and ground temperature, posture, whether the bag is used with a sleeping mat, level of clothing worn whilst using the bag or individual metobolic rates.
